From Salted Roads to Salted Rims
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, so you could say being "Salty" is literally in my genetic code. But my path to the coast wasn't exactly a straight line. When I was a sophomore in high school—an age that’s already a total "Shift Show"—my family relocated to Colorado. If you’ve ever been a teenager forced to leave your entire world behind for "mountain air," you can probably paint the picture of how that went.
While I spent years surrounded by peaks, my heart was always pulling me toward the shoreline. I knew I didn't belong in the snow; I belonged where the air was heavy and the water was wide. So, the second I was old enough to make my own "big girl" decisions, I made a B-line for the Florida coast and never looked back.
The Hustle (The Duct Tape Era)
I’ve always had two things: an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of humor that’s a little darker than most. Remember the era of duct tape pens and wallets? Yeah, I was that kid in elementary school. I was about that life, I killed it, and I’ve been looking for ways to share my creativity with the world ever since. A Salty Beach Clothing Co. isn't just a business for me—it’s the evolution of that same kid who just wanted to make something cool and see people wear it.
The Therapy of the Tide
Being real for a second: this brand is my outlet. I’ve spent my life navigating the waves of depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. There are days when the world feels like it’s crashing down, and when those storms hit, I put my head down and pour every thought, idea, and sarcastic comment into these designs.
After my diagnosis, my husband and I realized that my mental state needed more than just a change of pace—it needed a change of scenery. We moved to Sunny Florida because the beach is my medication. The salty air and the sand between my toes are where I find my peace and my comfort.
Wear the Salt. Be the Vibe.
A Salty Beach is for the people who’ve been through it, the people who use sarcasm as a survival tactic, and the people who know that a margarita cures almost anything. I swapped the high-altitude attitude for sea-level living, and I’m bringing all that grit and humor into every piece we make.
